Somewhere within you, there’s an infinite aspect of your being that is always at peace. This aspect of yourself sees the bigger picture of your life. It knows where you come from and where you are going. It knows the lessons you’re here to learn and the best people, events, and circumstances that will help you discover them. It knows what’s true, meaningful and real to you and what isn’t.
This is your heart.
Everything you think, say or do is a choice. The expression you wear as you greet a total stranger, your best friend, lover or child is a choice. What you wear each day is a choice. What you share or withhold in your conversations with others is a choice. How you respond to everything that life sends your way is ultimately a choice.
If you’re anything like me, sometimes you feel like you have no choices. That life has put you in a situation or place where you have “no choice but to” or you just “have to”.
But, what if you could take full and complete ownership of each choice you make? Begin to see yourself as the creator of your own experience by the qualities of your own choices? Choices that are either in alignment with this greater aspect of yourself or out of alignment with it. Choices you make because you “want to.”
Questioning your choices before you act helps you stay true to your heart consistently. And a good way to do this is by asking yourself the following heart-alignment questions.
5 Alignment Questions To Help You Stay True to Your Heart
- Does this (person, situation or choice) represent who and what I stand for?
- Does this sound like me?
- Does this look like me?
- Does this feel like me?
- Does this excite me or make me feel more alive?
Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the next choices you feel you “have to make”, how about if instead, you place a hand over your heart, take a deep breath, and connect with your heart? Then, ask yourself these questions, and truly listen…
Listen as if your life depended on it because IT DOES. The life you came here to live, the one with the highest possibilities and highest creative potential and opportunities for expansion and growth depends on it!
In the end, it’s much easier to live with the choices you’ve made from that peaceful aspect of your being I call the heart than the choices you’ve made from anger, fear or from wanting to please others or make them happy. The latter, you’ll always regret.
I hope you are well and that you have a wonderful week ahead.
From my heart to yours.
