People who initiate their journey into their hearts will often experience some kind of physical pain around their hearts. In my experience, this is what Dr. Bradley Nelson refers to as the ‘Heart Wall’, or the accumulated layers of trapped emotional energy surrounding the heart.
As a result, moving into your heart will often require that you start dealing with layer upon layer of trapped emotional pain which was not honored in the past…
All those time you were afraid but didn’t acknowledge it or gave yourself permission to feel the fear.
All those times someone hurt your feelings and you just brushed it away or reasoned your way out of it.
All those times you felt angry, guilty or ashamed about something but didn’t acknowledge it.
Your heart, whose nature is to give, also gathers all of those unmet emotions, building a defensive wall around it in order to keep you safe from the world around you. The problem with this natural defense system is that it also keeps you from letting love in, and experiencing the natural benefits of having an open heart:
- Improved physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health
- Deeper, more loving relationships
- Increased levels of financial abundance
- Greater intuition, creativity, and higher order of thinking
In my coaching practice, I’ve helped many clients dissolve this ‘Heart Wall’ and experience deep transformation in their life. For example, I’ve seen clients stop taking antidepressants, quit pornography, smoking, and drinking, meet their soulmates, and re-invent themselves and their lives completely.
They did this by following one or a combination of the following 5 techniques :
1. Practicing ‘Heart-Brain Coherence’
Primarily taught as the ‘Quick Coherence Technique’ by the Institute of HeartMath, this simple three-step process will help you build the strength or resilience necessary to start embracing all of those negative emotions accumulated around your heart, rebalancing your entire emotional system. An alternative to this is the Heart Rhythm Meditation Technique taught by the IAM Institute of Applied Meditation.
2. Practicing the Prayer of the Heart
This very powerful prayer helps you surrender all the accumulated negative emotions around your heart to a Higher Power such as God, Jesus, Mother Mary, Archangels, Qwan Yin, Buddha, or the Ascended Masters. Two versions of this prayer are available on my website; The Jesus Prayer if you’re Christian or The Prayer of the Heart, a more generic, inter-faith version.
3. Singing and Chanting High Calibrated Songs or Mantras
Thanks to the science of Cymatics (from Greek wave) there’s now growing evidence of the healing effect that higher vibrational sound frequencies have on the human body. You can start dissolving your “Heart Wall” by singing or chanting highly calibrated songs, mantras, or simply by being exposed to them. One of my favorite ways to do this is using Dr. Zhi Gang Sha’s Divine Soul Songs.
4. Practicing the 12 Virtues of the Heart
These set of twelve guided meditations will help you activate the vibrational frequencies of the 12 Virtues of the Heart: appreciation, compassion, forgiveness, humility, understanding, valor, love, kindness, freedom, truth, harmony and honor. You can listen to them for free here, or download them to your computer by purchasing them here.
5. Joining an Open Heart Circle
An open heart circle is a facilitated group process that uses Tej Steiner’s Heart Circle Format, where people experience what can only be described as an accelerated shift into their hearts by participating in a highly coherent, amplified electromagnetic heart energy field. My Path of the Heart Seminar is an excellent way to do this if you’d like to have this direct experience with me.
Do any of these methods resonate with you? If so, I invite you to explore it further by following one of the links I provided for you. Who knows, this might be the beginning of a heart opening experience and the deep transformation you’ve been longing for!
